SimpleShift Technology is a Jamaican software company founded by Karim and Shauntel Martin. We combine more than a decade of enterprise technology experience with hands-on accounting expertise to build software that businesses, IT teams and students can rely on.

Who we are

Most business software needs two things done well: sound technology and sound finance. That is the combination behind SimpleShift Technology.

Karim has spent his career building and architecting systems for banks, insurers and logistics companies. Shauntel has spent hers in accounting, across insurance, financial services and cloud accounting. Together we design products around how organisations in Jamaica actually work, with local currency and tax rules, real accounting workflows and the Jamaican curriculum built in from the start.

Our team

Meet the founders

Karim Martin

Co-founder & Managing Director

Karim is a technology leader with more than ten years of experience across software engineering, enterprise architecture and IT management in banking, insurance, logistics and technology. He has delivered more than 37 technology projects, led architecture governance using the TOGAF framework, and leads IT service delivery teams.

Karim leads SimpleShift and designs and builds its products: SIMBMS, SIMEA and SIMPEP.

Shauntel Martin

Co-founder & Finance and Operations Director

Shauntel is an accounting professional with more than eight years of experience in cloud accounting, financial services and insurance. Her work spans bookkeeping, financial statements, account reconciliations, payables and receivables, budgeting and forecasting, and supervising accounting teams.

She brings real accounting practice to SimpleShift's products, especially the bookkeeping and reporting in SIMBMS, and leads the company's finance and operations.
